Part of Winter 2005 was election and post election, thus everybody was tuned into the talkers.<P ID="signature">______________

If it's any consolation, WIBA-AM (Madison's outlet for Rush Limbaugh and WXXM's sister station) took a little hit as well, though not as dramatic as WXXM's. The above response indicates that's its nothing more than a cycle, when talk stations (left-wing, right-wing, or otherwise) usually see their ratings pick up during an election season. You can probably see them pick up in 2006, when we have not only the Congressional races but many state races (governor and legislature) here in Wisconin and all around the nation.

Don't think this drop is the death knell for WXXM, either. Madison's a liberal town for the most part and the station's format does have a bit of a following (not to mention that it's been able to do what the former AC format couldn't, that is make people want to tune in to WXXM).

I should have been more clear, by political crap I meant both side, not just AAR.

The new format effect probably played a role in the strong initial book, too. Many stations see a spike after they first start a new format, and then level out in the following books.
