Madonna Half Time Show

::) Why does some one-hit wonder B-List pop singer think its necessary to do these things. Just sing your song and get off the stage. MIA, you must make your momma so proud.

Madonna is an embarrassment to those of us that liked her music 25 yrs ago. She pushed the envelope many years ago. Now she just looks like an old, tired 50 yr old trying to be 20.

(Same can be done for video---pixellation or whatever.)

If you all go back and review, you will notice the screen did get blurred out - a second or two (and a shot change) after the upraised finger o' contempt.

Given the FCC's track record on these matters, better Uncle Charlie just sits tight; and whomever pays these people should withhold MIA's pay.

I had to look her up on Wikipedia just to know who the heck she is. Never heard of her until yesterday.

Looks like they would put a clause in the contract............similar to what CNN does to Kathy
Griffin on New Years Eve. If Kathy says a bad word or pops out some flesh.....she gets nothing.

She said one year she had to give the money back.........but M.I.A. would still get all this free
publicity, and as you say more people know who she is today because of it.

I may know who she is now, but I care about as much as I did Saturday night - meaning I don't care.

Start handing fines out to the performers too.

Agreed. And if the FCC fines NBC for the incident, NBC should sue her for damages and ban her from future appearances on any NBCU/Comcast-owned networks.

my question is how many people would know a few second gesture was given in the middle of that extravigent visual production if it was not pointed out by people.

i saw most of the half time show on tv live and a video replay and did not notice it.

and is it that big a deal?

I certainly didn't notice any gestures when watching it live. And no, I can't say that I find it a big deal.

It is no big deal. I did not see it. Most people didn't see it. NBC tried to edit it out live and did not catch it in time.

Not shooting down the Rap "singers" but isn't this kind of behavior pretty much normal stuff
for them.

Maybe the Super Bowl folks and NBC should have thought twice about inviting them to come
on board. I bet they will not be in the next one!!!! Glen Campbell where are you?
Actually, I did hear on the news that the NFL is getting tired of this stuff and will be looking to book country acts in the future. (Side note: A sign of the times in which we live... Back in 1970 the halftime act was Carol Channing!)

Yes - a sign of changing tastes in music, but not the age of the performers. Carol Channing was 49 when she appeared in 1970. Madonna is 53.

It won't be likely, but maybe----just maybe----marching bands could make an SB comeback. They could have regional competitions during the regular season (naturally, only seen on the field, as the networks review other NFL games), marching-band
"playoffs," etc.

Nahhhhhh..... (but I wouldn't be a-ginn' it)
