Madonna "Sorry"

Re: You may not agree but the people have spoken :)

"heres one:

Tom Novy - Your Body

I will brainstorm and think of a list. I cant just list big
songs but have to think about the songs that would appeal to
little old "katie wilson" listening to the song on her
favorite pop station.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Great club record. Great dance radio song but isn't ready to be on Top 40. No story. Not yet proven at any radio format, in this country. Too many uncertainties as of right now.

Yes, I'm interested in what dance songs little Katie Wilson and her mom want to hear on their CHR. Those are the dance records I'm interested in debating about. I just don't think there are any ready to go at this moment. So prove me wrong. :)

Re: You may not agree but the people have spoken :)

This is the only song on the album I like.

But for the best version check out the Pet Shop Boys radio mix that Sirius is playing.

Re: You may not agree but the people have spoken :)

A few I'd like to see:

Lucas Prata- And She Said

D.H.T.- Someone

Eric Prydz- Call on Me

Vinylshakerz (?)- One Night in Bangkok

I happen to be a big fan of the Cascada record, btw... My tiny azz CHR was one of the first to play it in the Midwest, if my memory serves me correctly.

Re: You may not agree but the people have spoken :)

Katie wilson and her mom can't WAIT to shake their groove things to "DanceFloor" by Jimi La Lumia!

Hehe - whatever

I've certainly made more than a mere 6 posts on this board (perhaps not with this name). I am VERY much an advocate for dance music all around and have supported many stations including MikeO among others. The whole reasoning for my post is that I'm frankly tired of stations or people having to "find" a reason to play a good dance song. It's very simple. I'm not quite sure why some of you are not seeing it "that clearly".

Re: You may not agree but the people have spoken :)

Mainstream radio needs a "reason" to play a record; their great fear is 'tune out', people changing the station';most of the current crop of dance will NEVER see the light of day at real "Hit" Radio stations, not in America, that is for sure. The average radio listener isn't a DJ,they don't care if something is cutting edge,or if lyrics are 'beautiful',they want to be ENTERTAINED,and 99% of the current crop isn't really entertaining by the average radio listener/music buyer's standards. If you want to hear what currently entertains them, listen to the amazingly successful Z 100 New York, where Cascada has currently found a home.

Re: You may not agree but the people have spoken :)

You can't argue with that. Being fans of dance music, we should be happy and embrace whatever dance we can get on terrestrial radio, otherwise there's always Sirius and iPartyRadio... both of whom are playing Cascada's smash! =)

Re: AGREED!!!!

First off as a dance radio community we need to champion Madonna and Cascada. Madonna was going to get airplay regardless because of her name, but this is still a good track. Three dance tracks making it to Top 40, its a start. The Cascada track is great. Everytime I put the track on the the phones light up. Top 40 is not looking at records as a a dance record they are looking for a pop song. Guess what cheese sells. I could look at the Top 40 charts and 90% of the tracks I hate. Put Im not the one they are trying to sell to. Support any dance track that gets to Top 40, the more we can get on there the more will get on there in the future.

BTW... Keep up the good work John! Hopefully Cory is sigining over bonus checks to you and Frank, and the rest of the staff

I'd say its prospects for CHR crossover would be brighter if Madonna went on a bigger promotional campaign in the US, doing promo stops in the top ten US markets, visits to local Top 40 stations, et. al. As it is, as much as I love that record, it'll be lucky to break into the US top 40. But I hope that I'm wrong.
