Magic 100.9 Is using the Do It Again CBSFM Jams Jingles!!!

I have Magic 100.9 on now and i'm hearing the cbsfm do it again jingles made for them and they sound great, way to go Magic 100.9!!! Since they play a much better variety of oldies from the 50s to the 80s i wish they would fully go oldies and compete with wtry, and if they ever did, they would definitly win over wtry for listeners, oldies and ratings too in my opinion. Anyway i hope to hear more of the cbsfm jingles on Magic 100.9.

Are they still using those JAM "Great Memories" jingles? I sort of liked those...

The ratings success that Magic has had is due to their Gold AC format, whereas they play the lighter stuff that oldies stations tend to steer away from (or play in very light rotation), hence the "much better variety". As far as TRY goes, Magic has already put quite the dent in their numbers. Tweaking to a full-on oldies format would be more of a mistake than a blessing at this point. Personally, they should leave things as is, maybe even bring back the 'K-lite 101' positioner.

And to think that a few years back, there were those on this very board who diagreed with me and said how any Light AC format simply would not work in Albany...

I like Magic 100.9 for oldies even though its more of a lite oldies format it still sounds good. i don't even listen to wtry much anymore. 100.9 is the #1 present on my stereo and walkman. the cbsfm do it again jingles from jams Magic 100.9 has now sound very good and they fit perfect too. I like them more better than the last package they had. Andrew i know what you mean about people disagreeing saying that the format 100.9 has now would never work back then but you and 100.9 proved them wrong, it is doing very well in ratings compared to wtry.

Yeah, I dig that JAM-CBS FM package too. But there's one cut that could've been written better; "Best Music on the Best Station" sounds kinda hinky to me with "100.9, Magic 100.9" wedged in at the end. But nonetheless, the package sounds good, and in an indirect way a nice tribute to a once great station just a couple of hours south of here. But the Drake remakes that Magic used on their Million Dollar Weekends earlier this summer sounded killer.

It is a nice indirect tribute to cbsfm oldies 101.1 since that was the best oldies station and they always had the best jingles too. Too bad Magic 100.9 couldn't become Magic 101.1FM just by changing the frequencys that would be a real great indirect tribute to cbsfm too plus everytime they play a song between 55-89 that cbsfm always played it would be on the right frequency lol, i can definitly picture that. Magic 101.1 sounds good too like 100.9 does but after all its only a fantasy not reality.
