Magic 101.7 moves to 107.3

Did 101.7 let their listeners know they were moving up the dial, cause STAR 99.7 is welcoming MAGIC listeners with open arms.

So is WKZQ coming in any or is it just plain static?

I am hearing WKZQ on 101.7 but its not crystal clear. Its clear enough to hear the music (it fades in and out) but there is still static in the background. (During the morning hours (Sunday) I heard Star 99.7 on 101.7 but it wasn't clear.)

Now doesn't the 101.7 signal leave Myrtle Beach? And 96.1 comes into Myrtle Beach with a strong signal. Wonder what format will be placed on 96.1. Maybe something to compete with 98.5 how about Jamz 96.

Yes 101.7 (WKZQ) will be moving to Charleston but will be a powerhouse of a signal to probaly reach MB still. I still cant believe the way 101.7 (WMGL) moved to 107.3 without much of a buzz. Do you guys still think Chuck will move to 101.7 or on 95.9? By the way, I heard what seemed to be testing on 95.9 two nights ago for several hours straight after midnight.

Was 96.1 off the air? I wouldn't think any company would have an adjacent station running live if another is on air.

I do think Chuck will go to 95.9. Rock or Hip Hop will go to 101.7.

No 96.1 was on the air. I could of been wrong but when I tuned to 95.9 it was in stereo and silent. It could of been another station, but my only thought was it could be the new 95.9. As for your predictions for 101.7, and if they go rock, well they might as well bring the Wave moniker back. I'm sure a lot of people will be happy.

A little side question for anyone. Considering 101.7's signal will be 100,000 watts, will it be strong enough to reach the midlands of SC like 107.5 did, or will be only be accessible to the eastern part of the state? Thanks

I'm thinking since the station will be on the WCSC stick with 96.9 and 96.1, I would probably imagine the exact same range as 96.9, which for me gives a good car stereo signal from Florence to Sumter to Hilton Head. 107.5 had a tower west of Summerville which gave them a good signal as far west as Barnwell and Columbia!

The new 95.9 will have a range similar to 93.3, FYI

92.5 and 96.9 seem to have the same range just about as I can both here them in Myrtle Beach. B 92 comes in better but The Wolf still comes in strong with some fade. Also closer to Pawleys I can get 96.1.

I think 96.1 is not as high up on the stick as 92.5/89.3/96.9. I want to say they're 100kW at 700-ish feet They have a CP to move higher up with the others, but that won't be needed if 101.7 moves in.

96.9 is stronger than 92.5 in the Elloree/Santee area in other words west, 89.3 is ok. 92.5 is usable sometimes in Santee but 7 miles down the road in Elloree not much, the wolf 96.9 is good some days with little fading and some days you can't listen to it. I think 101.7 will be a little stronger in this direction.
