Magic 101.9... over 20 years old?!?!

Yesterday evening, while listening to MAGIC 101.9 in New Orleans, they mentioned something to the effect of "For OVER 20 years, we've been there for you and we plan on staying..." Is it just me, or is the beginning of that statement just flat out WRONG!

MAGIC 101.9 is barely 20 years old! As far as I can remember and if I am correct, it was JOY 102 until sometime in the late 80's, then it flipped to MAGIC 102 briefly before going to MAGIC 101.9.

Looks to me like more advice from some moron "CON"sultant! Let's tell the people of New Orleans we're over twenty years old... they'll buy it! What a bunch of false advertising! lol

They picked up the WAJY call Dec. 26, 1980.

They changed to WLMG, and presumably "Magic" on Nov. 30, 1987.
