Magic 105.3

New playlist @ Magic. Playlist consist of music from Usher, Coldplay, Janet Jackson, Enrique, Shaggy and Katy Perry. What's missing is new imaging. Oh well, the music variety is definitely better.

Soft Rock stations are sliding forward with the times to keep their demos young. I remember a rule of thumb that said ACs aren't supposed to play music older than 25 yeara... AND TODAY THAT WOULD BE 1986.

Agreed, it's a very good mix of tunes from the past 30 years. Sure wish KHMX in Houston would stop trying to be a CHR like their sister station next door and go this route.

Magic replaces John Tesh with Daryn Kagan. Personally, I find John Tesh a little more interesting than Daryn but whatever.

Tesh is off of Austin's KFMK/KPEZ, now off of KSMG in San Antonio? Great now 1 less station to listen to.
Hopefully some other station will pick him up either in San Antonio or Austin. I don't really listen to podcasts, as I don't really have one of those iphone or smart phones nor want to shell out $50 plus a month. $50 is a lot of groceries these days.

As far as I know he is still on KCTI 1450 in the afternoons if your lucky enough to pick them up in Austin, they do have online stream.

That is in Ancient Modulation known as AM. I have better luck picking up AM 1700 KVNS from Brownsville. I work (not by a computer) in the afternoon. But what would be funny is if Tesh replaced Lisle and Hahn on 99.5 KISS :D

Is it just me, or maybe I didn't notice...but not only has the music improved but so has the imaging and the personality. Sure, they still "read" too many liners, but it seems much, much better...more of a bright/hot-leaning AC than I recall.

I don't listen to Magic often, but I did today...for almost an hour...and was duly impressed.

When this thread was originally created, Magic still had the same tired imaging. But yeah, they've updated the imaging.

Surprised Magic has not gone all Christmas yet.
