Magic 106.7: Not Playing It Safe Anymore

Magic 106.7 has always been a pretty stable station, playing it very safe with any changes being very subtle in nature. That seems to be changing with a new jingle package, the replacement of "continuous soft rock" with "today"s hits, yesterday's favorites", the retirement of Mike Addams, and management changes. Will this work? 6 plus numbers don't look great but I'm not sure about 25-54 females.

It should. Those changes aren't that much, and as long as the billing is OK there won't be any. Mike's retirement shouldn't hurt them either. His replacement will be talented I'm sure.

I think one of the other current WMJX air personalities will likely be promoted to replace Addams.

These changes were long overdue, and I can't imagine them sending the ratings anywhere but up. For the past few years the station has sounded painfully lost -- imaging straight out of the 1980s leading into Adele and Bruno Mars, hanging on to "continuous soft rock" in an era when women in the demo aren't looking for "soft" or "rock," etc. The station was in desperate need of sprucing up and I give management kudos for doing so.

You know who deserves the Morning Shift, is Marc Coleman. He is one of the BEST!!!!! Radio Host like you will never hear. He deserves it. I don't care what nobody says about him. He deserves it. He is one of the best.
My second choice would be David O'Leary or Tina Giao

Didn't O'Leary leave a couple of years ago? Or was it somebody else? If so, it was someone who, like O'Leary, once worked on air at the old WGTR 1060AM in Natick,

I remember now; it was Don Kelly.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Mike Morin come on down from NH.

Soft rockers often use a familiar name from the demo's past.

"Mr P.D., Ken Shelton on 1, Harvey Warfield on 2, Bradley J on 3, Tai on 4."

"Magic 106.7" sounds better to me. What will make them better is if they play more new Urban AC" along with what they are playing now.
Other than that, they sound great

There are no words...at least no printable ones.
For what seems like the 45,000th time it's not going to happen. Ever. Especially not on one of the musically safest stations in the city.
