Magic 107.7 and Lite Rock 99.3 Sharing Music Logs

I noticed this weekend that Magic 107.7 WMGF and Lite Rock 99.3 WLRQ out in Melbourne were running the same music logs. They both have their own voicetracked jocks (albeit, often times the same ones - Lori Bradley, Brenda Matthews, etc) but they run the same music logs.

From what I can tell, they split on Saturday night when 99.3 runs Mike Harvey, and during John Tesh and Delilah on 99.3, since Magic dropped both of those shows last year. This is in addition to overnights, when both stations run the identical Premium Choice music and personalities. During the day it's the same logs, but their own jock content.

How long have they been doing this? And it's really sad that there is such little creativity and literally zero opportunities for any air talent, outside of morning drive. Magic is live in the morning and afternoon drive, but from what I can tell 99.3 is live for three hours in the morning for "Mike and Mindy" and that is it.

I think Magic 107.7 & Lite 96.1 in Jacksonville does the same thing, too.

Lite Rock is owned by CC. They are live in the PM drive as well (eric young) and run a local smooth jazz show sunday mornings. Mike Lowe is the "best" in terms of PD and morning host been around 30+ years ... Mindy has been a central FL radio staple for what, 20 years ... it's good radio for a small/mid-sized market.

Yes, Lite Rock 99.3 is owned by CC, but MO was referring to Lite 96.1, WEJZ in Jacksonville which is owned by Renda Broadcasting

Except that MAGIC and LITE are owned by different companies so I fail to see how that's possible.

CC and Renda, respectively.

Magic 107.7 is owned by clear channel, Lite 96.1 is owned by Renda. Not likely.

Glad you could join the conversation parttimer... ;)

Japman is correct to say Mike Lowe is by far one of Brevard county's premier radio broadcaster's having outlasted a vast array of radio talent through out his career, a lot of us know that for sure, also true Eric Young was indeed live in PM drive and has been gone from "Lite" for the last couple of months, however, Eric is still living in Brevard County, Eric has a few lines in the water and has had a few nibble's including a boatload of on-air time and experience, he's been around the block a few times and I assure you he'll do
well.

Additionally it's also true that "Lite 99.3 FM" and 98.5 FM "The Beach" (different owners) are exceptional sounding radio stations for a small/mid-sized market, both have live on-air morning PD talents and both are Central Florida radio veteran's, I just felt that deserved a honorable mention, in whereas little stations in little markets can sound just as good, if not better, as the big boy's do in the big market's..

And yes it's really no secret about the CC play list!
