As a Radio Pro with 28 years under my belt and NOT a Friend of former MidDayer Brenda Matthews,in other words an UNBIASED OPINION...I turned on Magic 107.7 in the car today and heard a good portion of the JOHN TESH Show. It is probly a good program in the daypart it is intended for (7pm-Midnight) when Easy Listening/AC needs a more ACTIVE Program.
In Middays on a station like this where people tune in the station to serve as a backround source for MUSIC #1,Information #2 & Personality LAST...This program is WAY,WAY,WAY out of place for this Daypart. For the life of me I can't understand what Clear Channel is thinking!!!This syndicated show is not made for MIDDAYS & It screams-WE ARE INDEED ON IN THE WRONG DAYPART!!!
Oh Wait....after reading the JOHN TESH Station Listings It is saying his show is on Md-5AM as well as 10am-3pm...UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Magic would have been MUCH Better off having a Personality at one of their other AC or LITE A/C's Voice Track the Daypart. Way too much TALK!!!This change at 107.7 should very well benefit CBS's WOMX (105.1),CBS's WOCL (105.9) , COX's WCFB (94.5) and WMMO.I can't wait to see the TRENDS!
