Magic 98.3 vs. 106.7 Lite-FM (Holiday Music)

Now, let me preface this by saying that I am one of those crazies who enjoys the 24/7 holiday music.

I was wondering what some people thought of both WMGQ and WLTW (people who live in an area where both can be heard.)

Originally, I had 106.7 on because it changed to the Christmas music first. But, over the past week, after hearing Harry Connick, Jr's "Let It Snow" for the umpteenth time on the Lite, I decided that it was time for Magic. I haven't turned Magic off since. Mind you, the repitition is still there, but I don't find it nearly as bad as that of 106.7. Magic also plays some great classics from Ray Conniff, Frank Sinatra, and more that cannot be heard on Lite-FM.

As far as presentation, Magic does make it sound a bit more fun with jingles, smooth transitions, and some novelty songs. While Lite does actually play "The Chipmunk Song" and "Dominick the Donkey," Magic has "Grandma Got Run Over.." and "The 12 Pains of Christmas" in addition to those that Lite plays.

What does everyone else think regarding presentation, music, etc. on both stations?

I don't know if you are in the range of SUNNY 1045, WSNI 104.5, they have been doing it since mid-November, and have the widest, broadest and greatest playlist of any station in the USA, bar none, internet, Satellite or over the air. I am a vowed Heavy Metal/Rock/Alternative fan and for me to enjoy this is beyond belief.

Yeah, I'm not buying it.

Not sure what part of NJ you're in, I'm assuming North Jersey since you mention NY's WLTW, but...

If you're in South or South-Central New Jersey...

Check out WTTH/96.1's all-Christmas porgramming. They were they first in the country to go all Christmas this year and they soun=d very good outside of AM drive.

I'm in North Central, and therefore cannot get WTTH. But, I did hear it once and was quite impressed. Not bad at all.
