Magic Mornings

What do you all think of WSPA's new morning show? It's apparently from 6-10 but they seem pretty hush-hush about it on-air. They've been doing it for a while but it was just recently mentioned on the website.

It's OK, not great or near what TK and Monnie was or could have been. It's apparently the PD, Mark Hamlin trying to do it with Monnie. They don't really seem to do that well together...it just doesn't sound fun like it did. Although WMYI doesn't really suit my tastes, Bill Love/Sue Myers is definately going to win AC mornings. Entercom has 98.9 sounding very good, they just need to get a solid morning show. We have had Rick and Kimberly (good team), Bo Griffin, TK and Monnie and now these 'Magic Mornings.' They need to be a little more consistent. That guy on mid-days yesterday and today sounded very familiar, not from 98.9, but I've heard it somewhere.

Have to say....WSPA sounds great overall. The music sounds very well coordinated and I like the more upbeat sound.

Okay, I'm going to open a can of worms...But just for discussion, I'm not too proud to say "I'm available"! Mike Benson circa 1987-2003 had a huge following of 18-34 year old that are now 38-54, right in the core demo for Magic. Mark...Are you listening?

I think that would be a great fit and hopefully they will hire you. I remember listening to you at WANS and think it would be a great fit.

I don't mean any disrespect , but Mr. Benson why don't you properly apply for the job? It is doubtful that Mr. Hamlin will hire you based on a post here on Radio-info.

No disprespect intended. I have a job and am doing quite well. I've been in this business for 30 years and know how to "properly apply" for a position. I participate in this board and particularly the South Carolina thread because I loved the time I spent (7 years) in Greenville and take an interest in the market. Someday, perhaps I will return. For now, the post was meant for the sake of discussion. Thanks!
