Main Line Broadcasting

Not 100% sure about them now. As MainQuad (former owners) they kind of acted small-market-ish (I think they were originally from Roanoke Rapids, NC), had rimshot signals, and didn't pay well. Now they have a full-market signal, the old operators are out, they have three good formats and good talent.

But, I'm assuming you're asking in regards to a job there. You'll probably make less there than a similar job at Cox, but it's probably a better working environment.

Thanks for the info, not looking at a job with them at this time just wondered if they were a good company or not.
hmmm

They obviously believe in promoting their stations. Big $$$ TV advertiser for 98.9 - all over the place in prime time network TV. Billboards are up for all their stations all the time. They have big time programming consultants out of Atlanta. Known for their local level programming research too. Must have some deep pockets for that stuff. Word is the CEO is very involved in programming...like Cox. That could be pro or a con. Try Google...

Well.....here is what I know and what I can share....their reluctance to hire people for 98.9 (except for mornings)...is either based on economics or meddling from out of the market....or maybe both...sorry to be vague.

Liberty is one of those "Jack" adult-hits stations. Adult-hits stations, with the exception of a few in the U.S. and most in Canada, do not have any jocks at all.

Pretty much, it's an excuse to pull the most money out of a station.

If they can get top 5 ratings book after book without jocks then the people have spoken...and Richmond said they'd rather have no jocks compared to what they get here. Can't blame them.

Maybe that's how they pay for all those friggin' tv ads and billboards.
