I was waiting to see which religious group was gonna take this station over. I am not surprised in the the least that its gonna just be another wasted station cause there are already to many of these type stations on in and around the Portland area.

Actually, this would be the first of "these type stations" in New England, so it's historic and, as it replaces a simulcast, it reduces rather than increases "waste."

That's pretty close to WMEP Camden 90.5..I bet they will be drectional towards Bangor/Orono.

From what I've heard, the Pope said in effect : "Hey, faithful in over there in America: buy radio stations to air Cathoilc programming!!!!.... the Protestants are killing us." He wasn't necessarily addressing the ArchDioceses but rather Catholic lay groups (the faithful). Anyone aware of a CP (WTBP, 89-point-something) licensed to BATH that will air Catholic programming? Something like 10,000 watts with tower in Boothbay Harbor with a directional signal pretty much a circle but a null to the north. Licensee: Knights of Columbus in Bath.

there's are a ton of non-comm CPs out there from the last non-comm window, it's 89.7 and most likely directional away from 89.9 WERU/Blue Hill

I read something about more Catholic stations to be built in Maine in the "Bangor Daily News" the other day. It was only in the actual printed paper and not on the website, and the paper is gone now. The pertinent info was this: Separate efforts have been underway since 2005 to identify Catholic organizations throughout the State that would support the broadcasting of Catholic radio in their local communities. These efforts have resulted in the FCC awarding construction permits to Catholic ministries in the following locations: Greene, Bath, Augusta, Waterville, Lincoln, Madawaska, and York.
