MAINE STATIONS OFF AIR DURING FEB 25-26 STORM

Duirng the rain/windstorm of Thursday/Friday Feb. 25/26 a few local AM/FM stations were noted off the air. Considering winds gusted over 70MPH along Mid-coast and DownEast Maine it's not surprising.
I noted the following: W-BACH stations WBQX 106.9 Thomaston/Rockland and WBQI-107.7 Bar Harbor/Ellsworth both off-air at midnight. Carriers were on but no programming.

Maine Public Broadcasting's WMEP-90.5FM Camden off air due to damage to their antenna atop Ragged mountain near Camden; also power lines and poles leading to the mountain were destroyed by winds. Numerous reminders to listeners have been aired throughout the day advising them to try for reception of their Portland or Bangor stations. Expected time off air expected to be a couple of weeks. Also check out their website under news stories www.mpbn.net.

WDEA-1370 was off-air much of Friday. Numerous power outages in the Blue Hill Peninsula area knocked out power to their transmitter on Newbury Neck in Surry, that meant No Rick Foster or mandatory Ray Coniff tune Friday morning!!!! My day was ruined!!

Station was noted back on Friday afternoon at 3PM.

Update: As of Friday afternoon, March 5 MPBN's WMEP 90.5 Camden is back on the air. I heard the announcement during their MidDay Newscast at noon; Confirmed over-the-air at home and on car radio during the afternoon.

While visiting my girlfriend near Dexter last week, I noticed 'KVZ (the 102.1 side of K-LOVE) was silent. (I can see the stick from her house..No one in the neighborhood seemed to know anything..) The 101.7 side was on though... Is it back on ? Storm related ? Just curious...

WVQM/101.3 Augusta (simulcasting WVOM/103.9 Howland) has had dead air on and off for the last week or so; don't know if the problem is storm-related, though.

Dead air today on Frank 107.5, W-Bach 105.7, and Big Jab 96.3.
