Mainline's next project.

Hey Mainline!!! Now that some serious work has been done on the FM band with Fly, how 'bout turning your attention to WING-AM? Radio One let this property slip into hell. And as of this morning it was still there. I flipped it on just after 8 a.m. looking for ESPN sports. What was airing? A little cluster of 8 psa's and promos, repeated until 8:30. Then there were a couple of actuial commercials, then the same 8 psa's and promos continued to rotate until 9 a.m.! Only a true radio-holic lilke me would llisten to this drivel just to see how long it would last. Actual listeners were all long gone. Other on-air problems have been commented on ad nauseum on this board. Is it really so far out of the budget to actually hire at least one person who cares about this station?

That appears to be their mode operandi. Is it no wonder why their stock closed at 2.29 Friday? Their LA ratings fell 18%. The wheels are falling off of this company. It appears that Mary Catherine Sneed saw it coming which is why she so abruptly left a little over a year ago. Scott Royster is leaving by the end of the Year. A recent magazine article in Essence stated that TV ONE is actually sucking money out of the company and Income Statement Sales are down from last year.
Balance Sheets are sucking mud.

I do know that back in mid-2003 Radio One had a Board Op in there watching things during morning drive when I was last in that building...It sounds like it's all automation, all the time at 1410 WING-AM now, and that may be the problem...The wonderful automation equipment may be all jacked up.

I can't comment on any of the previous post, since I don't know...

I do know that I was wondering about their thought process when they said internally, that radio was a secondary business, rather than a primary. I know a bunch of us thought they were crazy then, since radio was paying the bills.

I don't have an MBA... I might understand their moves if I did....

NAHHHHH
