If it happens it might be interesting.
"numerous HD2 channels in all of the top 25 markets by the end of Q1 2006."

Re: Major broadcasters unite for New Coke push.

The "HD" in "HD Radio" doesn't stand for "High Definition"... it stands for "Huge Disaster"!

Of course the broadcasters will have second streams. It gives them twice as many stations. They already have the formats, they'll just give markets formats they didn't previously have!

Re: Major broadcasters unite for New Coke push.

Once listeners get the idea that the radio they listen to everyday is somehow inferior, they're going to start looking around...let's see: Here's a service that 140 choices and no commercials on the music channel. Sure, it costs, but it's about the price of a CD each month. Here's another thing called an iPod. Gee, I can download to this and listen whenever I want. Maybe I'll get one of those.

Yes, I agree that we're seeing a disaster about to happen.

Ummm it is already happening. Major markets already have HD2 and smaller markets are working on it as we speak.

Broadcasting is happening. Listening is not. <P ID="signature">______________
