MAJOR CHANGES AT THE EAGLE????

Hi

According to their website it says to listen this Friday at 5 for a major announcement concerning the immediate future of The Eagle. What the hell does that mean? A format change agagin?

Clear channel is in the format change mode. It would not suprise me to see Generation X. maybe not, but it owuld not suprise me. Active Rock statins are not pulling in the revenue or the numbers these days. i have nothing against the format, I am just saying, it's not selling. Clear channel has changed the format in OKC to a 80's Classic Rock, but that won't happen here because of KZPS. I still think Generation X is a possibilty.

What Generation X format does Clear Channel have?

Hey Charles, they have started one in Tulsa at 106.1. it used to be Classic Top 40 or 70's oldies and failed. I beleive there is 1 other market that Gerneration X is in. I want to say Louisville, but don't hold me to that. I just think that the format is a possibility. I don't think that it will hurt Mix 102.9 becuase they play mostly 90's up untill today. It is almost like an updated Jack format with no Classic Rock.

They don't usually announce format changes on the website or on the air....plus, KEGL has been trending upward in the ratings. This is some kinda stunt, daypart change, concert announcement...or SOMETHING like that

Lex & Terry said this morning that this change will change Dallas radio forever. Does this mean Generation X?

I smell bit.

Let's see, the "Eagle" is undergoing some dramatic transformation the day before the Cowboys play the EAGLES in the playoffs.

Would any of you be suprised to hear sweepers with "97.1 The Cowboys" Friday at 5pm???

Are they doing a bit?

To be honest, I dont think they're flipping. I can see a change to this gen x radio as stated earlier. That would give them a change to reimage and up the ratings.

Brilliant, Little1, just brilliant!

And don't forget Vince Richards is running this station... in Houston the Buzz was rebranded as the Killer B during the Astros World Series run a few years back (the Killer Bs were the nickname of the Astros core group of players since their names all began with B).

Saw this twitter post...

Disregard any expectations of "97.1 The Eagle" KEGL Dallas to flip with its "announcement" Friday. Keep in mind who the Cowboys play Sunday. ::)

Yeah, pump your breaks. More than likely, there will be temporary name change from "The Eagle" to "The Cowboy" for this weekend's game.

OR... dare I say "Lex & Terry Mornings - Russ Martin Show afternoons - quality rock in between"... Just sayin'

I Doubt It.
97.1 The Cowboy Seems Like a Possibility.
Or Cowboy 97.1
