All Spanish Radio has arrived in the Quad Cities as WKBF 1270 AM relaunches as La Pantera (The Panther) at midnight this evening. To celebrate its launch, La Pantera will be playing two weeks of commercial free music to introduce its listeners to the new format.
Juan Valenzuela, general manager of La Pantera says the new format is "Regional Mexican" featuring traditional folk music.
Randy Melchert, president of Quad Cities Media, LLC, owner of WKBF 1270 AM sees this as an exciting new station for the estimated 50,000 Hispanics in the greater Quad Cities area.
As a public service to the listeners, WKBF will also be featuring "La Familia Y La Fe" (Family and Faith) - a morning hour of inspirational programming in Spanish featuring programs such as "Enfoque a La Familia" (Focus on the Family) and "Gracia A Vosotros" (Grace to You) from 6 AM to 7 AM Monday-Friday.
For more information contact Juan Valenzuela of La Pantera at 888-321-1270.
