Dude. It was hard. Really hard. But sadly, not hard enough.

On the plus side, though, they were commercial free. And, as I am sure Rob would agree, they were really good at telling you who they were.

It was a metal format? And I didnt even know about it ..

Perhaps that's becasue it was pot metal.

i am laughin' so HARD right now

I had never even heard of this station. No format is going to work if people don't know about it.

As far as metal goes, I am a fan of 70's, 80's-the early 90's hard rock and metal. If there was a station the specialized in playing these songs sort of like the Boneyard on XM, I would listen.

I am thinking that was where "Hard" failed... lack of focus. Eight here, 18 there, 11 somewhere else. Too "all over the road". Look, I'm the last guy who would propose limiting a playlist, but they were simply playing too many numbers.

I agree. I also think they should have used more variety in the imaging. I'm not sure I ever heard more than one station voice.

I was a fan of the Hard format, too... I found it abstract; part Fellini, part Sesame Street...I always checked in when I could get them and, Rob, you know I respect your p.o.v. but I don't think there is anything wrong with playing numbers....but they have to be the r-i-g-h-t numbers... why not "all prime all the time"? I think they gave up on the format too soon; possibly lost their gov't. funding? No matter what's next, it's the end of digital radio as we knew it.
