Major KTCK Changes Thursday

First, I must issue the disclaimer that the information below has not been confirmed by multiple sources, nor has it been confirmed by any Cumulus executives who will allow me to use their names publicly. However, I do have a high level contact in GA who spoke to me off the record (brother-in-law has the ear of the Board of Directors). Here is what I have learned:

1. Please keep Mr. Williams in your thoughts/prayers. I refuse to go into specifics here, but he is having serious issues that will prohibit him from rejoining KTCK. I beg you to keep the negative comments regarding his absence, and impending permanent departure to a minimum. This is a tragic situation, and he will be missed, regardless of what some might say.

2. Kevin Scott will not be replacing Mr. Williams. Additionally, all talent you have heard recently has been dismissed from consideration.

3. Later this week, we will be introduced to Ralph "Razor" Barbieri from San Francisco. He is a bit traditional, however he is highly respected in West Coast sports talk, and he has family in the North Texas area. If you plan on continuing to listen to the afternoon drive-time show, it has been suggested that you get to know Razor very well.

I know change is difficult, but hopefully this transition will go smoothly.

Whew, glad this was posted again. I must have missed it the first time, two posts down.

Barbieri should be told that we already have a "Ralph" and "Razor" in town...he may be giving away free diary references to WBAP amidst the confusion.

Sorry to hear about Greggo. Will my bobblehead of him increase in value now?

I'll just say it one more time, FWIW. Whatever Greggo is doing, I hope we hear him on the air soon, and tha when we do he's healthy, happy, and ready to entertain us like he has unfailingly done all these years.

1. Greggo is greatness, and I hope the Ticket allows the P1s to sound off about that rather than ignoring the fact that people actually get sentimentally attached to DJs. Godspeed, O ruler of rigidity. I hope we can hear you again soon.

2. Yeah, you can hear Gordo going on endlessly every time "Razor" is on talking hockey... "oh you're not that razor, right?" Geesh.

3. Anyone hear the ESPN "job" reject yesterday with Rhyns and friendly Kooby? Not that bad. IJS

4. Let the Googling begin on one Ralph Barberi. Onward and upward, laddies.

None of it is true.

Although I am starting to wonder if Williams comes back.

I would suggest they move Bob and Dan to drive time and move Rhyner and Company to the 12-3 shift.

BaD is by far my favorite show but I don't think they'd do as well on Drive. I think the drive audience needs more Community Quick Hits and less What's on my TiVo or Doug Armstrong interviews. Of course, that's just one person's opinion.

Speaking of opinions, I do wish the Hardline would steak Ebrake from the Musers just like BaD stole the TiVo bit from Ben & Skin. It's becoming more and more apparent that the Musers have done it so long, they just do it because it's expected and not because they enjoy it anymore.
