Major KTCK Changes Thursday

I thought the final 'Fun with Real Audio' bit yesterday was very funny, and I didn't hear this new guy that was supposed to start yesterday...

You did not hear him because he is not going. He is a Bay Area native, his style would not work elsewhere, and he and his partner, Tom Tolbert, dominate the male 25-54 demo in afternoon in the SF market. He also just signed a longtime deal. He has worked at KNBR, also Cumulus owned, for around 20 years, and he is raising a young son on his own. There is no reason Cumulus would want to switch him from SF to Dallas, and I seriously doubt he would go.

One more reason to throw the initial post into the garbage pile, PGPinch I'm sure was trying to give himself some credibility by having a sign in close to Jon Pinch, Cumulus' COO.

I'm from the West Coast and everytime I hear that low rent Joe Pesci soundalike I want to puke.
Ralph "Razor" Barbieri is an odd joke & so is that post. I'm sure the guy who posted it is in a small room somewhere laughing and scratching.

I was about to be obvious man and note that Thursday? Yeah, it came and went and we still have "afternoon drive sport radio". (Funny.)

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow. Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone!

I thought it was funny that the music played coming back from commerical at 5:45 was the song Rehab from Amy Winehouse. Just throwing more fuel on the fire....

Not really interested in your opinion on why you think he wasn't there. Just confirming that I didn't hear him.

Okay, whatever. I'm not saying he is good or bad or anything like that. I'm just saying it was a false rumor, so don't hold your breath. You are not going to hear him today, next week, or next year.

That's true. KVIL SUX. Fire them all!! clean house, have them get a real job. Ty I feel better.

During Gordo's corner (The 9:10 segment) on this morning's Musuers show, they were going to talk about burying another radio station. Does anyone know who or what they talked about, I missed it?

Was 990 ever a challenge to the little Ticket? But I do like the gospel they are now playing. I hope they try to market it.

In the crosstalk with Norm they also got into a discussion of some of the stuff that went on between KTCK and KLIF before the merger/buyout. Very interesting.

No way Gordon was talking about 990. If you know the history, he has the God given gift of pixxing of the KLIF talent, ask Leon.

No fan of Gordon Keith but he is the only one at Cumulus (The Ticket) that will call out the other stations. Surely Rhyner had the nutx to do this as one time, surely.

Probably not.

Could you elaborate? I'll tell you one of the things that went on before KLIF bought KTCK:

Dan Bennett being quoted in the Morning News saying The Ticket had NO chance to succeed after it went on the air. (for starters).

There wasn't anything specific, just the general taking of shots at each other. The KLIF guys saying it wouldn't last and things like that. Craig and Junior saying they weren't sure the station would survive and the war of words between Norm and Skip Bayless. I kinda got the impression they really didn't want to go into details.
