Major Network Primetime Shows Not Broadcast in HD?

Just curious to see what major network (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox) primetime TV programs in the U.S. are still not broadcast in HD. It seems like HD has become the standard for most commercials and TV programs. The only show I can think of that fits the bill is The Amazing Race. Strange, because the exotic locations for the program would make it an ideal candidate for HD. Can you think of any others?

TAR will indeed go HD with the next season, which will air in Spring 2011.

There aren't that many holdouts left. A couple of reality shows are still in SD...isn't "Big Brother" still in SD?

Depending on the night and how much effort a producer puts into an episode Dateline NBC seems to vary widely between SD and HD. You get one of those 'let's rehash a 14 year-old murder' stories it's usually SD; exclusive interviews and breaking news usually get the HD treatment.

"48 Hours" is also still in SD, along with "Supernanny. "America's Next Top Model" is still in SD on the CW. After that though all that's left is CBS with "Up to the Minute" and "Let's Make a Deal" being the only daily programs still in SD.

The most bizarre case of SD remains to me "Last Call with Carson Daly", which is filmed in 16:9 widescreen that is definitely HD. But an editor or satellite uploader at NBC must really hate him, as it's still suck being framed in 4:3 letterbox SD. Same with "Poker After Dark", but in that case it does goes out in HD and many stations air it at different times and don't put the effort it seems to tape-delay it in HD.

I think The Amazing Race went HD for one season, though it was back to SD afterwards.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and America's Funniest Home Videos are also in SD.

Americas Funniest Home Videos just went HD this season. Fox's Family Guy also went HD this season. AFV's videos might be SD, but the show itself is HD.

Oddly enough, ANTM's last two seasons on UPN (both within the 2005-2006 television season) were in HD but once it moved to The CW it was back to SD.

Nope...TAR has never been in HD, up through and including the current season. (Trust me, I've been watching since season 5.) It will be in HD for the season shooting now, for air in Spring 2011.

It sounds like it will stay in HD, but I'm not sure.
