Make changes at Fresh 102.7

With all the talk about making CBS sound better, there's another station that needs to sound better. That station is Fresh. What changes would I make if I were PD? I'd give the jocks some more freedom for starters. I mean not CBS-type freedom but give them some room to actually show some personality. With that in mind here would be my ideal schedule for Fresh.

midnight-6 ( Kim Ashley)
6-10 ( Fresh morning show with Dave and Brandi)
10-3 ( Heather Walters)
3-8 ( The John Tesh Show)
8-12 ( The Fresh all-request night show with Kristen)

Enough syndicated garbage already. Bad enough they had to put 'Deliliah' on Lite-FM. Most people think it's midwestern when the show originates from Seattle. It should stay in Seattle.

Yeah, I agree, the last thing we need is more syndicated shows in NYC.

I do agree that the jocks should be allowed to put a little more of themselves into the station. I'm not expecting personality radio here, but they should be able to ad-lib a little.

A fourth rock station? Two of the three are floundering as it is, and even if their numbers go up, the rock audience is going to be stretched thin by then.

It's also been said that Fresh is doing better under the PPM than it is now with the diary method, so most likely Fresh is going nowhere.

Fresh is not doing that great, perhaps they could put some other format.Whats wrong with Rock?Sirius has how many rock stations?Isnt Fm trying to compete with Sirius and xm?Either compete or die.

Radio stations compete with other radio stations, first and foremost. The amount of satellite radio subscribers is very small by comparison. NYC already has three commercial rock stations, and two of them aren't even doing all that well at the moment. Adding a fourth one would be a pretty silly move at this point.

Additionally, I believe that Fresh has seen an improvement in its numbers with the PPM. If that keeps up, then Fresh definitely won't be going anywhere.

Well, it is another CBS-owned station. Just like with WXRK, CBS Radio could bring back the WNEW calls to New York City at any time if they so desired.

That, however, is a far cry from saying that the WNEW people remember will ever come back on anything other than an HD subchannel.
