Making 92.7 truly an SF station

How about a "rock" format but with emphasis on Bay Area bands (rock, punk, metal, r&b, etc.), SF only traffic reports (if there's an accident at the corner of Pope St. & Baltimore Way I want to avoid it if I may be going that way), sports from local high schools/colleges/universities, what tomorrows lunch is for SF Unified Schools (in case Junior lost the list on the way home), sticker stops/promotions that are done in only San Francisco. It may not be the best idea but it's sure better than anything else tried so far! ;D

It's actually licensed to the city of Alameda, not San Francisco, so to only give SF traffic reports and be so SF centric would not be helping serve that purpose, but I doubt the FCC would care anymore.

It had a successful format right up until the time the plug was pulled a year or so a go. The current owner has probably alienated the population that it was serving, so I'm not sure he can go back to it, though. There probably aren't many other formats that would be successful given the restrictions it has.

The current owner strongly believes that a Mainstream CHR format (not rhythmic-leaning, as the two main contenders play it) will prevail. That the hot zips for it are in Santa Clara and Contra Costa counties doesn't enter into it.

Also timely content about SF would cost money and with no advertisers it's hard to support that.

As for going back to the dance format, I don't think it likely. For one thing, the team energy had mostly works for CBS now.

The only other formats that I could think of will work with San Francisco centric is Cantonese format, since majority of San Franciscans are Cantonese speakers.
