Making it up as they go along

I saw the article by the Columbia Journalism Review that Premeire Radio Networks, the outfit that syndicates Rushie, Hannity and some of the other big mouth, no info, lying sacks of crap that pose as talk shows actually paid actors with talking points to call up el Rushblow and the others and pose as real callers. BUSTED BIG TIME!!!

Now we know where Fox gets its act from,as they are the the "network" that just makes S*&^ up as they go along, instead of "fair and balanced" of which they are neither. I wonder if Rushblow and Hannity, et al knew they were fielding fake callers? If they did, they deserve to be canned for deceptive programming, as opposed to the usual lies, frauds, deceptions and daily un-American propaganda being spewed by them. Fox: Fake News. Rush, Hannity et al:fake callers. Par for the course!!!! ;D ::)

Wow....talk about a stupid post. Premiere and Fox News have nothing to do with one another. Hannity on TV is not Hannity on the radio....."progressives" love to take a shot at Fox News anytime they can...even when Fox isn't even remotely guilty. But if those of us who are conservative took shots at taxpayer-supported NPR for their bias, it'd be a big deal - "what the hell, you can't do that!!" -- funny how it's a one way street.

ooooooooooooo come on !!!!

I figured that out many years ago.

Open lines. 300 million potential callers. Why not air ones that agree with you and fit in perfect ? OR why bother..just pretend it's a real random call ?

The point that I was making is that Fox and right wing radio are two peas from the same pod. Both lie, both are fakes and frauds, who make up crap. Fox creates stories out of lies and parrots right wing talking points (Black Panthers, Obama is a Kenyan socialist) and Right wing radio creates callers who lie and parrot right wing talking points. What part of that don't you understand, Adam??? ???

Does it bother you as much, not at all, or just the same, that Top-40 stations use fake calls all the time for things like their phony phone calls, or "to catch a cheater", or to set up bits?

Talk shows are supposed to be on the level and engaged in a discussion of the events of the day in a true and forthright matter. In other words, talk radio is supposed to be real and spontaneous.Top 40 is by its nature,a sideshow that is not supposed to be taken as genuine. Albeit, Rushie and his friends have always been fakes anyways.

Here's what's REAL. Just because Premiere offers a service, it does not mean that Rush or Hannity used it. Also, the service is more for bits referred to in a previous post. This is not a "gotcha" moment. It's someone with an agenda making a leap of faith to try and make talk radio look bad. Oh, if only Air America was still on the air to tell us what's real.

With all due respect, ProgressiveTalk - Talk shows are entertainment, whether you are talking about politics, gardening, or the art of hanging curtains. The hosts that you mention may in fact be guilty of slanting issues to the right. It is their view and they are entertainers - not news anchors. It happens on the left, too. The great part about being an American is that we can listen to both sides, and make up our own mind.

Conservative talk is making money, bottom line. If staged calls are getting on the air, so be it.

I am not even going to entertain your "lie, fakes and frauds, who make up crap" comment.

Well, another poster below summed it up to me. Apparently you weren't exposed to Air America radio in it's short incarnation....because if you want to hear left wing talking points, created callers who lie about Bush, etc....that was the perfect place.

You can be partisan and show objectivity in regards to the media...it's not hard.

Yeah, but doesn't Ryan Seacrest qualify as an even bigger phony? ::)

On Seacrest, true, but once again I reiterate, Rushie et al claim they tell the (slanted) truth. Therefore,if they have the truth on their side, why have fake callers? As for Rush saying he doesn't have the fake callers, just because he says so, usually means that he's lying through his fat, drug addled ass. Maybe Rush thinks that it's a conspiracy against him....oh snap, that's Beck, who is another addled minded liar who is delusional to boot.

I don't even turn it on. I read such posts as newshounds.us and MediamattersforAmerica.com and other web sites which keep me and anyone else who cares to understand the lies of the right, informed. All my post was saying that the story was about fake phone callers on conservative shows. And the conservatives are the ones who keep saying how they love to shove their morality down everyone's throat. Pundits are one thing, but lies are another and talk radio is all about ideology, especially on the right.

As for progressive talk not being viable, when you have commercial radio owned by a few ultra-right owners, Clear Channel, Entercom, Salem, CBSradio, etc, who cater to the right, it is little wonder that progressive talk isn't "viable". It has never been given the chance. Even so-called liberal MSNBC is now owned by Comcast, another right-wing leaning outfit, who canned Olbermann because they knew that they wouldn't be able to handle him.

And before you say it, Air America was botched from the getgo. You call it hate. I call it truth.

What does this entire thread have to do with Hartford radio??? Or Connecticut Radio for that matter???

This whole entire thread is in the wrong forum.

And worse for that matter.  You hit the nail on the head.  Nowhere little jocks claiming to have all these e-mail requests from all over the country, but mostly the Washington, DC suburbs and areas around NYC and CT.  They are nowhere near either market, sitting in a little home base in a tiny little town with no audience there in their time slot either.  They can't get a local audience or sponsors, but expect us to believe that they have huge out of town audiences, and expect to get sponsors.  But wait a minute...they already replay old nationwide sponsors from nationwide programming they mishandled before they got dissed and dropped. I wonder who gets the invoices for that.

Those two websites are notorious for being biased.....they are not watching the media, they are targeted at taking down the FOX News empire.

There's a reason that FOX News came out of nowhere and put CNN, MSNBC, and all other networks in the rear-view mirror. Because people wanted something different. One of my liberal college professors (and they are ALL liberal) at Westfield State last year even admitted, "Fox News looks so biased to some people because it's just not as biased so far to the left as the rest of the media". I wrote my senior thesis, 50 pages, on the exact same subject, with specific examples from video footage and online. If you want to complain about FOX, do some research, and have some idea of what you're talking about.

Do you really believe what you are writing? If so, I'm really sorry. You are out of touch with reality.

As far as phone calls, entertaining, compelling radio with compelling topics gets people to call.....whether you work in Willimantic at a class A station like I do, or in New York City on Z100. Compelling radio makes people listen, and makes people passionate enough to call. Studies have consistently shown only a small percentage of people, under 5%, that listen ever call a radio station. But, compelling content makes it happen.

And if it isn't entertaining or compelling they have to make up calls.

I am currently doing my senior thesis on Politics and radio and really appreaciate this post... if I am rich in a few years I know who to thank now ;D

Lets not forget those special little shout outs to Paul McCartney's new twin at small establishments that don't even listen to the station.
