Mal Bellairs

My Dad, Mal Bellairs turns 90 this year. He was at WBBM 780 in Chicago from 1955 to 1969 before they went all news. He then bought and ran his own station, WIVS in Crystal Lake, IL

Happy Birthday to Mal Bellairs form the Foss kids!

If this is Rick writing this, my brother and I used to run around the CBS studios with you in the early 60's.

From:

Westy (brother is Jay), Jeannie & Cindy Foss.

Congratulations!!!! to Mal Bellairs on a milestone birthday and hall of fame recognition. I had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Bellairs for my high school paper in the early 60's, and such a gracious and kind gentleman he was to a very young high school student. For many years, his program was the soundtrack to my family's Saturday errands and Sunday drives. Although I remember his sign-off piece of Rex Harrison's "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face", my fondest memories are of his marathon-length Christmas programs tracing the history of Christmas music. Thanks, Mr. Bellairs, for many happy hours of family-listening around the radio.

Mal Bellairs is truly a gentleman.

Congratulations to your Dad! I believe your family were neighbors of ours. Did you live in Wilmette and, if so, on what street? We lived on Ashland Avenue. Best wishes!
