Steve Malzberg is on NewsMax TV. How many viewers does NewsMax have?
He & most right wing windbags have made $$$ being Rush clones.

where will Malzberg be next? on WNYM--970 with other burnt out windbags? ( Piscopo, Gallagher, Gambling, etc.)

I bet no fewer than MSNBC and their left wingers like Al Charlatan.

Bet he beats the 15K viewers Ronan Farrow has on MSNBC; Farrow has been on for a year now and zero traction which pretty much sums up MSNBC. "MSNBC registered its lowest full-day rating in nearly a decade on Tuesday, a devastatingly low benchmark that shows just how severe the network's decline has become." This story appeared on 2/04/15 in the Politico.

Maltzberg is one of the third-tier blabbers who are slowly being wrung out of a contracting segment of the industry. Right now these declines mainly affect types like that, but in the next few years, even the "big guys" will find themselves relegated to AM daytimers.

The Rush era (and AM radio) are over. Some people will go to their grave awaiting a 'comeback".

It's doubtful Newsmax has as many viewers as even Farrow. Even The Blaze probably has more viewers than Newsmax.

That being said, MSNBC's ratings baffle me. It's not as though there aren't enough liberals to win elections - but why isn't there room for a progressive/left thinking cable network?

And before the usual left/right bickering commences, I'm not referring to what you think the slant of the "news" is. I'm asking more why there can't be a more successful MSNBC just as there are successful right-wing commentary shows. Is it the audience? Is it the talent?

OR--- Rush, Imus, Beck, Hannity, Savage, Levin & others will be relegated to podcasts.

More independent and liberal minded viewers don't need the fear-mongering comfort food that conservatives crave and are afforded daily on Fox news. While the overwhelming majority of TV viewers do NOT watch Fox news, Fox definitely has a very loyal core (or cult, if you will) that will watch religiously and buy every book Hannity or O'Reilly write.

Brilliant business model, although awful for the nation's discourse, in that it so muddies the water with misinformation.

Then why do liberals complain that there aren't more liberals on radio?

I don't know. Why does the FCC want more minority ownership? There's no guarantee minority ownership will lead to more diversity in programming, or better radio. Just as more liberals on radio won't necessarily lead to better ratings, better radio, more profits, or even more liberalism in legislation. Everyone has to complain about something. When the topic of talk radio comes up, some bring up balance and quotas. For every Rush, we need a Bill Maher or Jon Stewart. That's not how commercial radio works.

Also, have you ever read any of O'Reilly books? The "Killing" series are historical; not political. Obviously you are not a Conservative so how would you know what Conservatives need?

Facts? As I said, the overwhelming majority of viewers DO NOT watch Fox. Your own numbers prove that.

Actually, I've read 3 of O'Reilly's books. I don't dislike O'Reilly.

Fox News does however feed red meat to the wingnuts. I know that in the same way I don't need to be a tiger to know they enjoy meat.

Actually, it's easy to find out what conservatives read. Just check out Goodwill and you'll find last year's right-wing whiz-bang book in depth; read once then tossed away in favor of the new hot-shot who gives them a fresh jolt of paranoid "comfort food."

But the majority of national news viewers do.

Most of the networks in those rankers run things like Walking Dead and Cheers re-runs, not news.

Most people do NOT get their "news" from Fox, especially at that time. "Walking Dead" is often as reality based as what passes as news & opinion on Fox. "Cheers" even more so, thus it is not unreasonable to compare them.

Fox is, was and always will be about reeling in the wingnuts at any cost. News, if reported and discussed accurately, is a wonderful coincidence.

if Malzberg fails on NewsMax TV maybe he can do overnights on 970---WNYM.

Speaking about wing-nuts...listen to these posts! The news operation at Fox is as legit as CNN, MSNBC, or for that matter even the firmer big 3 networks. Don't mix the opinion shows up with straight news...but then, why let the facts get in the way of a good argument!!

I don't have cable, but I do see Fox News at my friends and families homes at times. It is by far superior to any other news on tv, very balanced, topical, and respectful, not looking down on the people as that other side as being narcissists elitists always do.

I find it funny, those who attack Fox for not reading the DNC talking points each evening, are the same ones who defend the outright lies from Brian Williams and Dan Rather.

I disagree with the commentary on fox a lot, but it is nice to know that the host doesn't hate me and "see me as an enemy and wish me harm" as well the moutpieces for the commander who said exactly that.

Don't worry, you're sadly not alone in your thinking.

Unfortunately, you consider an often subtle and many times not-so-subtle propaganda entertainment network to be a legit news source. It is in reality the least accurate with information, to put it nicely.

Fox is, not coincidentally, the ONLY "news" outlet run by an established partisan political operative. But by all means, ignore that.
