Management changes at Clear Channel

With all the management changes at Clear Channel, is there any possibility that recently fired talent could be re-hired?

I believe that GST could get many of their listeners back, and I’m guessing even a 2.6 is looking pretty good right about now.

The first thing CC will do is fire Randall. This guy has no vision. Then, GST should, in my opinion bring back every former talk talent that has ever lived and worked in Atlanta and give them a two hour block of time over the weekend. Then, see how the listeners respond. The ones that do well, give them a weekday gig. These guys will probably work cheap and will most likely bring in better numbers than a radio hobo that is fired every 2 years and travels the country. Just my thoughts.

I don't think anyone you just named has ever been a host have they? I did't say bring back sidekicks. Who wants a sidekick back?

Looking at the ratings, I'd say close to a 1 share wants them back.

Yeah, but when? What was the point of firing Del Corpse and taking outBubba Chase if you're keeping Doomquist around for the fall book? Randy is clearly the person who has done the most damage in the least amount of time. (a real accomplishment in a building filled with incompetents)

Who knows maybe John "Rumsfeld" Hogan admires a guy who can destroy ratings as completely as Hogan has destroyed shareholder value.

Gene Henssler and John Adams were hosts.

Gene Henssler and John Adams are still doing their usual great weekend shows, and since I’m a Pete Davis and Wayne No Offense fan, and I’m listening to WCFO a lot on the weekends.

Pete Davis was WGST's night host from 1995-1997, after Coz Carson and before the Planet Radio John & Ken show, syndicated out of LA.

The only reason that Randall & Denny Shaffer are still at WGST is because they are still "under contract". I wish I could dive more into this, but the email I received regarding this issue was sent in confidence. If WGST is serious about addressing their programming shortcomings, they don't need to bring anything BACK--they need to ADD new and THOUGHT-PROVOKING programming to its station. My show would be a great start here. It was unfortunate that when I did my audition show there on September 11, 2005, that there was NO program director to listen to it. If I would've known that there was NO ONE to accurately "grade" my performance, then I would've waited to do the show. I know FULL WELL that my show would be the answer in this market, and what's killing "the powers that be" is that they know this as well. They are reluctant to "pull the trigger", because that would be an admission that I was right all along. They need to face it, however. I've been right many times before. I predicted the nose dive for Syndication One as well. They can't PAY a station to carry that garbage--unless they can find a "sucker" that is still embedded with the useless, outdated, and irrelevant "civil rights establishment". The Radio One people ignored my claims then, just like WGST is ignoring my claims now. Eventually, someone will become interested in MAKING MONEY, and only then will they begin to listen to REASON and LOGIC.

I'm not under contract, but even if I was it would be cheaper to pay me off like they did with Del Core than to lose a half million a month in revenue like GST has since I got here. Likewise, paying Denny off would be far less expensive than begging sponsors to buy his show at $20-30 a spot.

But then Mike Wheeler wouldn't get his "finders fee".
