Manager board editor, Please read !

How in your opinion does the Dan Yorke post and the "N" word not fit the Providence Board?

It's about a Providence Talk show host on a Providence Talk station.

I honestly believe Doc 6494 did the usual N double A C P crap.
Doc is all about Free Speech. When it's his.

The thread was moved because more and more of the posts had little to say about Dan's show and more to say about the implications regarding a racial epithet used by a comedian.

It's not a case of anyone being PC. We allowed the use of the offending word in the context of a news story. It was moved because even the person who STARTED the thread contributed to it veering offtopic into the discussion of general race relations.

If you stay on topic, then you don't get moved. The thread ultimately straddles both topics. So many of the posts were intertwined with each other that I felt that we couldn't do service to EITHER discussion had we split them off.

I ultimately decided that the non-radio nature of much of the discussion justified it being moved to OTA.

In the future, questions such as this are better directed to the Managing Board Editor in email correspondence.
