Why is magic giving away a mancave? Isn't that geared towards men 25-54 and didn't Rock107 do the same bit last year? Inquiring minds want to know.
 
These days, it's now what you want to give away. It's a matter of giving away what you can wring out of businesses that want to trade. Times are tough.

Mancave: entertainment area, with electronics, featuring comfortable furniture for watching sports and porn, and drinking beer.

I read so many ads for Fall River Electric just so we could give away toasters or irons or junk like that when we had contests. I always figured 99% of contests were trade and the other 1% was probably stolen goods.

In this day and age of the woman now "wearing the pants" (i.e. calling the shots, being the leader) in the marriage/relationship, a Mancave was conceived to be an area of refuge where "a man could still be a man" (i.e.: watch football, bogart the remote, smoke cigars, etc. Maybe, if smart,channels like "Lifetime" are blocked in here). Back in "ye oldern days", the man's home was his castle. Now, this has been relegated into one room. (And, once the divorce goes thru, the bitch will probably take the prizes as well as most of what the poor schlub worked most of his adult life to acquire. All without shame. Hell, she MIGHT let him out with the clothes on his back, if she feels up to it. I blame the lawyers, ACLU and the Democrats!!!!!!!) :p
 
I understand giving away what you can get, or what the customer wants to hand over to you, but when your target audience is women you can come up with a better name than a "MANCAVE". And yes WEZX did it a couple years back.
 
In the 70s wasn't it called a Rathskeller or a den? Is that a de-evolution to go from a den to a cave? LOL! "The bare (bear) necessities the simple (bare) necessities"

Next thing you know, Magic 93 will be running NFL in the left channel and "Wendy in your Oasis" (plug for banner ad above) in the right. ROFLMAO!

There's not much difference today than in the old days. Giveaways were always based on "what they could trade". One station I worked at got "lucky". We traded a truck and gave the same thing away 3 times because the winners couldn't afford the tax, title, tags and insurance. We looked good that year. :)
