Mancow 86ed at KLAC

Maybe there was somthing here on radio-info, but I hadn't seen anything about KLAC dumping Mancow. Then again don't know if anybody noticed, or cares. Not sure someone screaming into the microphone is the radio people in LA want to listen too.

Then again the guy has been dumped everywhere from Boise to his hometown in the past month or so...

Guess all that hype about 'the future of morning radio' and 'the next Stern' was just that...hype.

I always found his appearences on Fox News to be quite annoying. Who likes to listen to somebody who is yelling all the time?

Im sure his team will manage to get somebody in LA to sign up for his morning show, but I dont see him lasting in this market even if they do.

No, nobody discussed it because one, he's on a AM, no one cares about AMs anymore except KFI and also, there's Mojo 100.3 some amateurs have to talk about. Not to say anyone cares about that one either, but it is on FM.

Goatboy? Actually I found Jim Breuer on SIRIUS to be quite funny. On the level and relateable.

PLUS HE DOESNT YELL AT YOU THROUGH THE RADIO!!!

He gets that the tuner has a volume control.

You're not a Stern fan are ya? :p

Just where is he going to clear in LA? People seem to be saying that, but I see no evidence of it and doubt it will happen. Especially with the million$ it will cost. Basically, it's a morning show with no top-10 clearances.

Mancow is a fool, his hair cut on the SF Bay Bridge costed him $$ no one should shut down the bay bridge like he did The year was 1994!!! Traffic backed up for miles This was a WILD 107.7 stunt!!

I think that most people who listned to Mancow realized that he was an uncoordinated mess.

WHat I have not heard here is anything about his replacments: Fred Roggin (KNBC-TV), TJ Simers and his lovley duaghter Tracy from 6-9.

I never got why in any major or large market you woudn't have a local morning show start at 5. They don't think anyone is up until 6'oclock in a west coast city of millions of people? Or is it just a ploy to protect their flagship AM and drive even more people to handel themselves in the morning?

Actually, if I remember correctly, Mancow did not personally have to pay the fine for the Bay Bridge incident. It took years for the case to be decided, and ultimately, the owners of the station were held responsible. Clear Channel did not own Wild 107 until 1998 or so, but they were ultimately stuck paying the fine of $500,000 or more. I found that amusing
