Let's be fair... Elvira's chest is still great today :)

Back on topic, the article is total speculation that those changes "could" happen. I find it hard to believe that Emmis would give up their Q cash cow (no pun intended) for a guy who (admittedly talented) has been out of the market for many years and probably lost most of his fan base during that absense. Stranger things have happened, however, so who knows at this point?

To me, the more interesting question is what will happen if Emmis does buy out ABC's radio holdings... will they try and "merge" The Zone and Q101 airstaff and flip 94.7? I think the 94.7 change is a no-brainer, but bringing Q101 "defectors" back into the fold might be difficult, since there's so much bad blood between the 2 stations at this point.

Mancow and Johnny B are just morning shows... what will 94.7 be doing at this time next year?

I just remembered them doing Red in St. Louis. I haven't listened to it, but I wonder if it would work in Chicago. I haven't even listened to Chill.

If you really think about it, Moody Bible could technically pursue to have the Class D stations off the air permanently, simply because the Class D stations are in their primary contour of 90.1 and the Class D's have no protection, and for those who live around the Class D stations trying to listen to 90.1 (small amount of listeners), it does create interference. It doesn't take much wattage to create problems. There's an LPFM station in Valparaiso Indiana that creates problems around SR 130 slightly east of the downtown area listening to 93.9, but that one is legal because 93.9 is outside of the primary contour for Valpo.

That's right, Red is a Bryan Setzer/Frank Sinatra/Michael Buble/Dean Martin format. They call it "Music With Class". I would check out either one of those, I don't think they will do traditional oldies.

You sit 1/2 mile from 90.5's transmitter in Park Ridge, and 90.1 comes in just fine with no interference.

I was once told that both 90.5's were allowed to exist because there was a grandfathered clause somewhere. (No idea I have no proof of it, just hersay).

But in the end, Moody would not waste the money to even bother going after these flea powers.<P ID="signature">______________
