Wait a minute. Isn't this an daytime only stations, meaning they can't sign on until sunrise? And doesn't Mancow start before sunrise, especially in the winter?

Our BIG BOYS really do need a full 50.000 watts of power an AM-1530 to compete with those crummy cochroaches at KWCY in Cincinnati OH. Mancow, Steve Dahl, and Howard Sterns need more power, so that everyone in Chicago can tune in all over to hear their favorite stars...cyberdad said:WJJG really gets hammered by Cincinnati during the winter months. More than a few times when I worked out of an office in Arlington Heights, I'd drive by Joe's car dealership in Barrington and find it ironic that his own station was getting blown out by the big stick a couple hundred miles away.
It wasn't all bad, however. You could tune to 1530 in the morning and hear Joe holding court and good tunes (as WSAI) all at the same time! ;D
Seriously, the 1700 watts or whatever it was did seem to help matters a little for a while, but as was pointed out, the plug got pulled on that in a hurry.
How about giving them 50.000 watts of full power!!!...Going back to Nashville said:Is it possible that WJJG could make a deal with the two companies for the new permit and broadcast from the current WJJG site?
They could probably could use the same and possibly more power being directional, and have one station instead of two.
If WJJG could be on 1550, which would not have the huge skywave problem that 1530 has.
They could probably even get some very small night power which Joe Gentile could use for some ultra local shows such as the Reverend that rents the time right at sign on.
This would be a much better use of those two signals.
If you want Frank Sinatra and all the other Joe Gentile songs from the old WJJG format, just go to Sirius XM satelite radio on channel: 71 - Siriusly Sinatra 24/7 all year round!!!...Dr Wayne said:Turned on WJJG today and the music was Rock. I guess they are getting ready for the Mancow and his listeners. No more Sinatra....
