I've been lurking here for a year, but I just can't stay quiet on this one. I hope you are kidding. Seriously. I listened to the JOLT right up until the day they tried Mansow (intentional slight). It is sophomoric, genuinely boring, and insulting to the intelligence of all but the most braindead 7th grader. At least IMUS will not be a wash of sound bites and endless mix sessions. However, as a former and now returning JOLT listener, I can offer you a bit of hope. Nobody in the history of the JOLT has been able to make a programming decision stick for more that 8 months. So you might get your show back after all. In the mean time XM.

I agree with amtucson 100% regarding Mancow. I too am back to listening to the Jolt during morning drive now that they have restored Don Imus to morning drive. And amtucson is right about what may occur eight months down the road. Who knows, perhaps then morning drive will be "Out West with Fred & Nicole" ;D

Edward

Oh oh, looks like the audience reaction is somewhat less than "phinominal".

Yeah, Mancow is exploding everywhere... he may have gotten canned in Chicago, but he cleared Medford! Oh, and his act is perfect for an AM with Bill O'Reilly and Dr. Laura!

Just check out Mancow.com and look at the daily schedule (ENTERTAINMENT) .....it speaks for itself, anyway I'm ordering a satellite radio..why not I'm not going to be force fed radio shows anymore, all these years I/we've been told how damn smart the audience is then KABLAM! program change.. GOD Imus sucks EVERYBODY ON HIS PROGRAM IS A "BALD HEADED FAT WEASEL" and how could anyone have loyalties with that bunch, they have said how they wanted to see Tucson only in their rearview mirror..I have observing these boards and realize it's sort of a industry thing.goodbye, Edward

I believe it was Fred Imus who said that after his parting with the Jolt.

Ha! I knew KJLL should of stuck with MANCOW....DON IMUS what a freakin embaressment...we all knew it was coming.. that sewer mouth of his is not controlled by brain function, By the way Jim Parisey is doing a great job (KNST) his format has really improved and he is entertaining now..EDWARD

Mancow? No mas Hombre-vaca. With the exception of the Rutgers BB statement, at his worst, Don Imus is better than Mancow at his best.

Imus said something that should not have been said. He regrets saying it and is in a lot of hot water for it and will learn from it. A lot of stuff goes out there and it's interesting what gets picked on and what doesn't. Monday morning on a local Tucson station, while talking about the Imus situation, the host said something that was pretty much on the same level.

Don apologized and went on Sharpton's show to take his medicine. Who knows what will ultimately happen.

"Freakin embaressment" (sic) and "sewer mouth" -- those words could describe "drop a deuce" Mancow.

While Don's comments were certainly not funny, his "partners" comments completely surprised me..the jig comment seemed like nobody was wondering who said that! I want to know what the local show said about it! Do tell...

Agreed! The few times I listened to Mancow, I got the impression that he was a Howard Stern wannabee
Agreed. And he wasn't even as entertaining. It was a long clip montage followed by 2 minutes of fart jokes and then a commercial break which ended up half full of break feed music. Mancow was and is pointless radio filler. I'd rather listen to dead air.

8 month curse

LOL! ;D ;D ;D

[Counts on fingers]: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7! 7 months and Imus off-the-air!

Not by the station's doing, but dang if that 8-month track record didn't follow suit!

Laugh it up while you can because Imus always seems to find his way back. Care to take a bet on what the next 8 months will bring? If you have any sense about this business you will be forced to admit there is too much money tied to Imus to keep him out of the game for too long. We both know there are more than a few execs thinking about a timeline that would work for bringing him on board. Especially after this lawsuit exposes the hypocrisy in his contract.

In the mean time how many affiliates did the Cow pick up in the huge Imus shuffle? None in this state! Another huge missed opportunity for the Cow!!

Mancow's got wit and he knows it, in a kind of irritating way.

But do you know what I think is funny? He seems to contradict himself on his OWN site. He states in a video he posted of himself on Craig Ferguson's show how he didn't go to satellite after being offered because he didn't believe that people should have to pay to hear him when they can listen for free now. What he fails to understand is that not EVERYONE can listen to him without regional interruption as his show is not carried in many states. PLUS, what's this? ??? He charges to hear his show on the internet! How much you ask? Well you can either buy it for about $8/mo or something like $54 for the year! Isn't that about as much as you would spend on satellite programming for how many stations?? (And the "shock jock" radio personalities of your choice.)

What a shmoe!

"a little less talk...a little more action" ;)..his Shatner interviews, his buy American...phone scamtime...his talks on Loving yourself first, was I the only one that heard all this(maybe) :-[, he absolutley was not a Stern copycat hell no,no way .....but who cares KNST"S JIM PARISEY Morn. has blossomed into a very good program.Edward

Agreed, Parisi has something you just can't put your finger on, not a political talk per se, not a pure entertainment focus, not goof, it just works. It is unique and I'll bet he is picking up audience right now. We will have to see, won't show till next book probably.

I'm confused. Is Parisi doing something new? Why won't we know how he is doing until until next book?

Do you think 104 The Truth will have anny effect on KNST?
