Mancow

Anyone have any thoughts on why Mancow is not as popular in syndication as others. I heard his show for the first time a few weeks ago and it really is pretty good.

I like him. He is new here in Houston. At first, he seemed, well kinda juvenile, but has actually grown on me. Maybe people have to listen to him a while. Plus, I've seen him regularly on Fox & Friends, and he really didn't appeal to me much there either. Maybe that doesn't help him.

I think he is very young and egocentric. Oh, and why does he yell everything he says?

He was kicked off of his Chicago station and now (I understand) does his show from a small production studio in the Western 'Burbs of Chicago.

I have heard maybe a half hour of his show. I didn't have any problem with him.

His not gaining a big syndicated audience is another knock to those who say "any local host worth his salt should have a syndicated show," or so a so-called radio expert around here pontificates.

But all local hosts are hacks, right?

I've only listened to him about 3x and that was last year.

My impression was that the show had an annoying amount of 'noises' and clip sounds being played constantly. It was a huge distraction. It wouldn't be difficult to find anything more listen-able on the dial.

The guy may have talent and views worth hearing, but not by me, not the way that show is/was packaged.
