Mandatory furloughs at SBS

Our CEO Raul Alarcon circulated a system wide email requiring all employees to select one week off without pay from now to end of year. Obviously quite a blow to us who work hard for our paycheck. One week vacation without pay. Why don't you take a few weeks and stop collecting your paycheck instead. Thanks a lot.

You are very ungrateful..At least you still have a job and were not laid off. My company did a lay off and I lost my job..only to come back part-time. CEO"s will always get there $$$$ because they have the responsibilty of the whole company on their backs.. It could have been worse......

I can empathized with the original poster. For example, DJ Laz (who was making mid 6 figures at his previous employment) has been given the keys to the palace at dj106/sbs, while his new coworkers have to take a forced week off without pay. Some people live paycheck to paycheck, and I'm sure Laz is not one of them. So while yes, one that has a job should be grateful, I can still understand being upset. Got to look at all sides of the spectrum.
