Mandatory PLJ staff meeting?

ANYTHING would be better than their current play list of 15 songs, and I think I'm being generous with that number :).

Although I started listening right around the tale end of the Mojo era, so I can't even begin to recall whether it was bad or not :).

This station needs a radio makeover. Nothing like beating the same songs over and over to death with little or no personality and tons of commercials. The receipe for a format change.

I kind of like PLJ.. Well sometimes. I wouldn't say they have too many songs on their playlist not too much. I have a hard time figuring out if their 80's or Hot AC, or ALternative. Alternative would probably be the right direction, but I dont think they need a drastic format change, just maybe a very slight tweaking for their identity issues.

It may be boring but as long as it continues to be one of the very top billing stations in NYC, they would be foolish to flip formats. The station is a moneymaker, and that's what it ultimately comes down to.

Maybe there's concern that if CBS flips K-Rock to CHR, then it could hurt 'PLJ, so they're going to reposition the station in advance?

Maybe the meeting will be to kick around opinions as to which daypart the coveted Billy Bush show will work in best!

Love Format? Just about 85% of songs are ALREADY about love, or divorce. So in a sense every station has a love format :).
Except perhaps for any station airing the Doctor Demento show :)

Actually, if you listen real close to the lyrics of most songs, it sounds like "rain" is wiping the floor with "love" these days...

Actually, 40 years would make it 1969. Love meant "the Summer of Love", hippies, Haight-Ashbury and spacey, drugged out music. It was a little different then just songs about love. You had to be there.

Heya,

Yeah, I know :). Even though I missed out on 69 by being born in 78 :). Mostly just a joke on how every single song seems to be about love and romance. You'd think every topic has been sung about now in that direction :).
