Manning's First Day

Any comments on the first day of the Charley Manning Show? I thought that Manning did a good job talking to Governor Patrick while still staying true to his conservative principles. I did not hear his interview with Scott Brown, but I did listen to the third hour talking about how terrible nursing homes are in the Commenwealth. I think he should stick more to politics which seems like what he is good at.

Overall, I did like the show.

I tuned in Monday at 12:00 unfortunately I had a big lunch and that combined with the first guy in a while who is worse than T Finn and Todd put me in sleepy bye land. I got back from lunch at 3:15 ( thank god Howie came on and woke me up). Charlie is good at politics, which means he sucks at radio like all political guys. Try WCRNs new show from 1 to 3 Teter On The Edge a much better choice, fast paced, funny, and edgy. And you don't have to switch to hear Howie.

hmm, interesting...was WXKS havings someone from out of town voicetracking the news? I know on debut day they had George Brown formerly of WTAG, it was John (forget last name) yesterday...out-of-towner not aware?
To be honest, usually the nickname "Christy" is for a woman (like singer Christy Lane). I am reminded of the Mary Tyler Moore episode about a woman brought in to do the sports. The guys at the station are convinced she isn't qualified and, before leaving the room, Lou Grant tosses in the name of Fran Tarkenton, the
Vikings great. The woman goes up to Mary, who had told her, don't worry, you'll be fine and she asks
Mary, "Oh, one more thing...this Fran Tarkenton...who is she?" :)

(Same situation with me; many years ago I called up Alligator Records, a blues label in Chicago--this was before the Internet as we know it--and asked to speak with the rep, Kerry Peace and was told "Kerry is taking lunch". "Do you know when she'll be back?," I asked. Was informed that...Kerry was a he... :)
