Mansfield, Marion, Lima

Mansfield and Marion are still in negotiation with Saga Comm. The problem is CC wants more money now, saying the stations are more profitable then what they were when originally for sale.

Lima is anyones guess

SAGA purchased Clear-Channel Marion, Ohio.

WMRN/AM
WMRN/FM
WYAN/FM

I had heard that rumor this morning...but I cant find any information on that.

It includes AC - 95.9 WYNT "Magic 95.9", COUNTRY - 94.3 WMRN "Buckeye 94.3 WMRN" and NEWS/TALK - 1490 WMRN "Hometown 1490".

So far that would leave just Mansfield, Lima, Defiance and Chillicothe on the block. Supposedly Mansfield is being scouted by Saga. However a single FM buyer has expressed interest on the 107.7 frequency there. Federated has backed out of Defiance. A company called CHILLICOTHE MEDIA made a run at the 7 stations there. Lima has had many many visitors but no bids.

Lima had a potential buyer stop by about 2 weeks ago. The potential buyer currently owns radio stations in Indiana and Virginia. However they never came to the paper signing ritual in San Antonio. Supposedly they said the stations were in such ruin. Or so thats whats being told.

Mansfield is supposedly going to be announced in the coming month or so...and Chillicothe is still in the works, but I would persume an announcement by June.

That is a correct observation. A couple of close friends and I looked at it, but it's in awful shape. Above the purchase price it will take several years capital to improve the physical plant, rebuild sales, and get listener goodwill back. It's basically a carcass that has been picked clean.

I dont know - 1.5 MILLION loss from the Lima Revenue Machine is a pretty big number for Clear Channel who only makes 3 million in the market.

Marion and Mansfield are still in talks with Saga or so is what has been said.

Lima, I dont know who would want to buy those. CC has made such a mess of that cluster!
