Manual/Full Schematic Needed For 1948 General Electric XT-1/1A AM Transmitter

Looking for a full schematic or the manual for a 1948 General Electric XT-1/1A 1KW AM broadcast transmitter. I found a simplified schematic at http://www.engineeringradio.us/blog in an article written by Paul Thurst, but the full schematic and parts list or even with luck the original manual would make the project easier.

Looking to convert this beautiful beast to 160m so if you've got one to scan or one cluttering up your file cabinet, let me know. I am looking forward to seeing the rosy glow of four 833s through the front glass. ;)
My contact info is good in my profile or PM me please.
Many thanks!!!

I watched one of these for several years from the control room window when I was an overnight baby Top-40 DJ back in the early 70's. The 833s had such a pretty glow on the plates, with just a hint of blue florescence in the envelope. The XT-1 had a decent sound and didn't put up much of a fuss running positive peak modulation.

Jay, Was that GE 1kw from the old KWBB? I think I have the rare GE Am modulation monitor here in my collection of old radio gear, that was at KWBB 1410. The audio output of the GE monitor had very good specs. and still works today.

This particular transmitter I'm restoring/converting is from a station in the eastern US.

I spent many over-nite hours in the early 70's looking at that beautiful KWBB GE through the control room window. When it was replaced it was offered to me but I did not have the space for the transmitter, and since I was a DJ, I had many moves ahead across the country before I settled in Texas in '87.

I sure wish I had that GE Mod Monitor and you had a feather, then we'd both be tickled ;D
Let me know if you are interested in selling or a trade??
I know that the mod monitor you refer to was replaced with a Potomac if I recall correctly. I know the antenna monitor was Potomac DAM-1 anyway.

I'm seriously involved with "AM" Phone operation on Amateur Radio with several AM MW transmitters (3) from the 40's through the 60's. My collection is an eclectic mixture that includes a Western Electric, an RCA and a Gates. Plus several more waiting for conversion for friends. Needles to say I have an understanding wife. ;)
So shoot me an email and we'll swap stories/lies etc and you can tell me how you ended up with the KWBB mod monitor ;D

My email is on my profile...
Thanks!!!
