Marble City Media files objection to FM translator W252BE Tarrant

This was filed by Marble City Media a few weeks ago, who contends that W252BE Tarrant never utilized its directional facilites which was approved in June of last year. MCM asks for the cancellation of the license and calls for W252BE, stating the permit was never built, and that the translator is reportedly still interfering with their WFXO, Stewartville/Sylacauga.

This has definitely been one more of the interesting radio sagas in Alabama lately, hasn't it? At first I was suspect of MCM's complaint because of how far away Sylacauga is from Birmingham and the unlikelihood of the translator putting enough signal over Double Oak Mountain to make a dent on reception of anything south of Chelsea.

But if these allegations are true, about the antenna orientation being wrong, the TPO being too high, the antenna height being different… then I can see where this thing might be a thorn in the side of WFXO. It'll certainly be interesting to see how the FCC finally deals with this.

The battle between and Marble City Media and Shelby Broadcast Associates continues for W252BE. The FCC finally granted Reynolds a new construction permit a few days ago that is supposedly meant to eliminate interference to WFXO. Marble City Media refiles more paperwork, disputing whether Reynolds even has a license to modify the facilities or is able to qualify as a licensee (see last paragraph of page 4 and following through page 5).
