Why did they ever fire this guy? When he was PD the EDGE had there best numbers.Now they have fallen below FREE FM!I know its just a trend but the station is in the toilet.

Riviera broke the rule they tried to fix what was not broken.Got rid of all request lunch the ska hour every night dumb dumb dumb.Added alot of active rock which does not belong in t he alt format except for a select few groups.Marc had a really good sounding station!!!I emailed him right after they fired him and he said its like this when someone buys a house they want to make it there own and that is what riviera wanted to do.It really is a shame what has happened to them.They had a great sound right in the summer of 2004 when they began tweaking the format added some older cure and smiths a really good station scott the owner had.Well i say bring back marc!!!

The Edge has turned into a super HotAC station practically. I like Hot AC and all, but not when I'm tuning into an alternative ROCK station. The Fray? That's Alternative?
The play list is really the most egregious part of the Edge. My fiance drives to work at about the same time every morning and says she hears the same songs in the 15-20 minute window she listens, so I decided to look into it. Sure enough, The Fray, Red Hot Chili peppers ("Snow [hey oh]" and "Tell Me Baby"), play in 4 out of 5 mornings at the same time. The Edge could feel free to mix in some title protection rules so that the same songs don't repeat during the same hours daily--it's a pretty simply feature in most scheduling software. Only the golds are different during that time period. So I expanded my search and discovered that the highest repeat values on their selections occur during the morning show--one would think that during peak listening hours this would not be the case. It would make more sense to have greater variety during peak listening times.
Clearly, when you're losing to FREE-FM you need to make changes, bring back your interactive shows, ditch the ska-punk programming--this isn't 1993, and maybe cut back on the AC and HotAC type of music and throw in some ALTERNATIVE rock.

.To me the edge sounded best around '02 '03 with a punk-skewed playlist, and good imaging. They brought on the dry station voice and things have gone downhill from there.
