So, don’t post nasty messages about “you forgot THIS” or “how could you not mention THAT?” Do so, and I’ll just take my keyboard and go home…..) ;)

Looks like he picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
Looks like he picked the wrong week to quit smoking cigarettes.

1958: Actress Sharon Stone is born in Meadville, PA. Her early acting career including appearances in commercials for Burger King, Clairol and Maybelline. She has also appeared on Magnum P.I., the 1988 miniseries War and Remembrance, and will also appear on Law and Order: SVU in April 2010.

Regarding the debut of WMCV/17 in Nashville,it was hardly Tennessee's first UHF station. WTVK/26/Knoxville had been broadcasting since 1953 and was the first TV station in Knoxville. WKPT/19 in Kingsport/Johnson City/Bristol came on 1969, I believe. There may have been others---WRIP/61 in Chattanooga for one...

He didn't say that it was the first one in the whole state, only the first one in Nashville. I remember a similar discussion on here about the first UHF in Memphis.

While Andy Gibb was mostly a musical artist, he did host Solid Gold for a while. He died on this day, 5 days after he turned 30.

Andy Gibb also had made a few sitcom appearances in the years just before his death on such shows as Gimmie A Break and Punky Brewster.

Back in the early 80's I remember the big rumor at the time that was reported in such magazines as People, US and even TV Guide where Gibb was supposed to join the cast of Dallas. Of course at the time Gibb was dating Victoria Principal who of course was a regular on Dallas which I would imagine only helped add fuel to those "Andy Gibb to join the cast of Dallas" rumors

I forgot to mention that Andy Gibb died at the age of 30 in 1988.
