AM tops the ratings! WJR, likely propelled by an interest in election year politics and NCAA Basketball leapt into #1 while WWJ, despite dropping as winter ended, is a close #2.
105.1, despite a Pistons rally culminating in a playoff berth couldn't even must a 1.0. They did switch out their afternoon drive show, so this indicates that the new show isn't likely doing any better than the one they dumped. Neither is the shift to a local morning drive program doing much for them. If the local shows aren't bringing in the ad dollars, they may as well just clear the ESPN content if they aren't going to make a format change. The station could hardly do any worse. Greater Media had a rough month in Detroit as WRIF and WCSX dropped. NASH cut the cume lead WYCD had on it in half in the last three months. I have no idea what the station bills relative to when it had the 'Doug' format, but they have clearly impaired a formerly choice CBS station with the NASH format.
So, AM isn't dead and music tastes are fickle. About par for the course!
