March 2024 Nielsens.

After being neck and neck for a while, WEBN has opened a massive lead over 96Rock.

What is 102.7 doing right?

I'm not sure why.But the 96.5 signal seems to be a bit sketchy lately. Not sure If it's equipment problems, sunspots whatever but WEBN might just be benefiting from a more stable signal for listeners in the car

96.5 has never had a strong signal market wide. On some of the cheaper radios and down in the valleys, it has some problems in NKY and around Lawrenceburg, IN from being too far north. WORX on 96.7 in Madison, IN cuts into their range to a minor extent in the southwest part of the metro. I also never got the crispest signal when I lived by Fairfield Commons (Beavercreek) about ten years ago.

I worked at a Target in South Lebanon during the Christmas season in 2016. Being down in the deep hole and inside a reinforced building, that’s what they played in the store while we did stocking before opening probably because WEBN had trouble making it into the building.

96 Rock could probably benefit by changing formats and offering Cincinnati something it doesn’t already have. Unless they do a format better or something not already offered, there’s no reason for listeners to put up with inconsistent reception.
