Top 5:

2. WYRK/106.5 9.3(up .5)
3. WGR/550 7.0(down .1)

One thing of note: WBKV/102.5 tied WBFO/88,7 with a 3.4

And the full list.... Buffalo/Niagara Falls

I saw that. I think KLOVE inherited a lot of listeners from Star 102.5 just from hitting the old pre-set. I know for a fact that's what my wife has done many times in her car. Purely anecdotal, but it's within the range of possibilities.

I am looking at this list and Nielsen is really becoming a joke. There is no reason to even release these as so much of the market is not represented.

More and more companies are realizing that Nielsen radio ratings simply are using templates from 40 years ago to determine listening. Very few people I know have ever gotten a diary in the lifetime. Even if they did, people write down incorrect information. I’ve seen the diaries. Many even say “ I don’t want to do this, take me off your list” . They also confuse stations. I have often seen things like BIG WECK 104.1, or WBEN oldies music. They confuse other stations as well.

It’s simply an outdated, bad form of measurement, and it’s unfortunate that it is the only thing we’ve got as a yardstick.

Since we have been out of the ratings, no local advertiser has asked about them. Local agencies care to a certain extend, national agencies love them, but national agency business has fallen off the map for radio anyway.

I am hearing that there are in-car ways to determine in car listening, but I’m not too familiar with it.
