March 5: Good bye Life channel...hello Slice

from what I've seen its pretty much the same ole thing, maybe some new shows but its just allot more DIY reality crap. There was one show on there about dogs that was kind of interesting, but then I don't think the channel is aimed at me (i'm sure my wife would like it).

Then it's not the same thing :D
This station is actually going after the W! (Women's television) network.
They're merely trying to say that if you're a woman, there are other choices.
Plus, they prefer to generate a viewing audience that is slightly more upscale than the average W! viewer. (and also most likely more sophisiticated than any former Life network viewer)

I actually (and my wife) prefer W, I can only remember 1 time we have ever watched slice but they show basically the same things that run on BBCC, TLC and probobly a host of other stations. I'n not saying its all bad but why not do something different? Reallity tv is so over played that I am not even watching any of the shows on the networks that we used to watch. We used to watch survivor and this season we watched half a show. But reality shows are cheap and that may be all Slice can afford...or maybe we're not upscale enough. Its really no sweat to me, we did not loose a channel and we did not gain a channel.

Well, One could ponder the very idea that money for slice programming went to the purchase of the station's parent company instead...
(Slice in Canada was owned by Alliance Atlantis, a company that has been sold to Global tv for 2 Billion dollars...)
