March Arbitron ratings released on Monday. Will Nash FM soar?

Its iffy in my opinion, but i'll say at least a 2.0 for now. They hired more jockeys, and they now have over 25K likes. We'll just have to wait and see!

Don't expect a 4.0. Just a steady climb, closer to the 2.0 mark.

Like the posters above, my guess is that for now there will be a gradual increase, as more people discover Nash.
They are not really a complete station yet, with no morning show, newsbriefs or traffic. I believe promotion has been limited to a few billboards.
Once these issues are addressed, then Nash may be able to take their ratings to the next level.
On their Facebook pages, several listeners have said they would like to display Nash bumper stickers. That would seem to be a cheap and quick way to get the word out about the station. I recall that Y 107, the last country station in the area, had theirs all over the place.

Now went from 2.4 to 1.8 perhaps a format change is about to happen? 92.3 WINS? 92.3 News? 92.3 K-Rock? 92.3 The Fan & 101.9 New Rock?

rating 1.8 = 20th.

cume 857,700 = 19th.

Actually, the rating is 0.1. You are correct on the rank, 19th.

In 25-54, the rating was also 0.1 and the rank was also 19th. The share in that demo was 1.6.

ID MOVE THE FAN TO 92.3 AND PUT WINS Simulcast on 101.9

I would not touch fan on 101.9 j they have mmuch brand equity to rebuild and need to start now getting the idea of fan 101.9. Do not confuse the audience. 92.3 would be fine for Wins--but I don't think nyc needs all news on FM just yet--spin now more electronic and they should be fine.

Ouch. Far from anything to be celebrating.

No, nothing to celebrate, but remember when we used to give stations some time to get going ratings-wise? Now if it isn't worst to first in 3 months, it's a failure.

Nash should have had the weekday airstaff in place, ready to go. McDonalds doesn't open at first just selling fries and then phase the rest in later. This is a mistake all companies seem to make now, with the "build it in place" attitude. Anyone remember the FM News debacle?

On the flipside, in essence, this is a brand new frequency. Prior to country, there was no reason for anyone who thought the world wasn't going to end to tune in to 94.7. I'll bet a lot of people thought this was a brand new sign on, not one of the older FM's in the area.

It will take marketing and time, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it settle at a 2.2-2.5 with slightly better 25-54 numbers after a year or so. There is still a vast sea of potential listeners that don't know it's there.

Welcome to the PPM world of the 21st century.

True, but short of FM News this is rapidly becoming the next worst stillborn out of the gate. There's really been no growth since launch at this point and other launches have done more with less. At some point it starts to sound like excuses.

Ya, people said that about FM News too....
Look Cumulus is investing in the brand so it's not going anywhere, you'd just hate to see it be a laughing stock. Country in this town is tough, and tougher than many of the their supporters suspected. I still think there's more to starting a public ambitious national search for a PD and giving it to the guy next door. It may be nothing, or may be the reality of a tough start for Nash locally.

Believe me...if this was a rock or EDM station we were talking about, everyone would be yelling that we have to give it time.
Most of the critics of NASH here have an agenda.

New York City is just not a country music market. I think the'd do better with a country leaning hit music station.

Dear Lord people are quick to drink the "haterade!" If we're still having this discussion around November and December, then I would say there may be some cause for concern. It's obvious Cumulus is committed to this format in this market and won't back down until they've tried everything to make it succeed.

While there are promotional materials out there, I still haven't seen TV spots or heavy advertising. I would guess they're waiting until they tweak the music mix and get their entire jock lineup solidified. The station is mere months old, people. And comparing this to FM News out of the gate is absurd. As people have said, it's a new signal to the market. People need time to realize it's there. It may be old news to us, but I would bet that more people are discovering it or learning about it every day.

92.3, on the other hand, may be something to watch if their demo breakdowns are in bad shape like their 6+.

Cumulus may be figuring that Nash will follow the model of WPLJ, which has traditionally been more popular in NJ than in NYC. 'PLJ has had excellent revenue even when its ratings were considerably lower than now, as they apparently reach advertiser friendly demos in suburban areas.
As Nash's overall ratings are already just a hair behind those of 92.3 Now (and well behind it in LI), perhaps CBS Radio made a mistake when it chose CHR instead of country for the frequency.
Nash had an overall 2.0 rating in Nassau-Suffolk last month, even though their signal has difficulty reaching large parts of LI. Perhaps Cumulus will feel the need to somehow improve their signal there, perhaps by buying a station for a simulcast.

In 9 weeks of PPM, the station has gone from a 0.6 to a 2.0 share in its target of 18-49 Persons. That is quite nice growth for a format long absent from the NY dial.

For a signal that has coverage issues in the eastern part of the market, that looks pretty good to me.

Really? you've said the same about other launches in NYC? I think not.
You and I both know that .6 is week 1, after that it's largely flat since. It's just that not that impressive, we discussed this a month ago. A station of that size for a format so popular (nationally true) should have broken 1m cume by now. That's hardly expecting a lot for a B in NY, Empire or not. I'm far from some hater, it has a darn high preset on my radio. Objectively it's underperfoming so far. It's a long game, no where near over, but facts remain so far. Too much defensive knee jerk reactions going on here.

Wonder what the poster wntiradio thinks now cause he posted on 3/13:

"This thing is going to wind up over a 3 by summer and shock everyone."

I like this station alot but a 3+ in only 2 more months is just delusional.
