With Bob Rivers back April will tell a lot of the story. 25-54 men went to KISW and KIRO, 25-54 women went to KRWM and KPLZ and adults went to KISW and KJR-FM. Not a ton of change. Big morning female numbers for Fitz and Kent and Alan. Big morning male numbers for KIRO News and BJ Shea. Rivers may change a lot of that. Up month for KJR, KPLZ and KIRO. Down month for KMPS, KBKS. Not a bunch of change.

Demos are the real story. Top 5 25-54 KISW, KJR. KKWF, KZOK, KIRO FM.

The move to FM is paying off for News Talk 97.3. KIRO-FM was one of the first news/talk stations to migrate to FM and now that scenario is repeating itself in many markets across the country. :)

Wow. What happened to KJAQ? And KPLZ?

Weren't they in the Top 5 not long ago?

Wow...Uh...Hey Bong, when the fog clears, go back and read the part that says KPLZ is top 5 in demo, that being 25-54F (the part that counts). 6+ is not important. KJAQ is still top 10 in demo.

Guru Guru Guru.....that thin air of the Himalayan mountaintop on which you sit isn't much help either......

OK, well then let me turn that question on it's side for a minute: Why DO the demos start at 6+ (especially if they're NOT important as you say?) What station other than KKDZ targets six year olds? And do you think any parent would ALLOW their 6 year old kid to wear a PPM some stranger gave them?

Arbitron was originally working with Neilsen - the TV ratings company - on PPM. TV has traditionally measured 6+ while radio had been 12+. Arbitron kept the 6+ even after the idea of using PPM for TV disappeared. As for kids wearing the meters, I believe the entire family gets meters.
